Flow Cytometry

Leukemia/Lymphoma Testing
Customized panels are used to characterize aberrant hematopoietic cell populations such as T cell disorders, leukemia/lymphoma, myelodysplasia and multiple myeloma . Both Technical and Professional components are available.

Collection Container

Peripheral Blood and Bone Marrow – Na Heparin (Green top)
Tissue and Needle Aspirates - RPMI with 10% FBS (provided by Trumbull Laboratories). Refrigerate the sample if not shipped immediately.
Fluids – Sterile container. Do not dilute. Refrigerate the sample if not shipped immediately.

Turnaround Time

2-5 days from the time it enters the lab.

Required Information

Clinical History – Leukemia (eg acute,chronic, myeloid), lymphoma, myelodysplasia or symptoms suggesting flow cytometric testing.
Peripheral blood and bone marrow - CBC drawn at or near the time of sample collection.
ICD-9 code
Specimen labeled with patient name, SSN, DOB, gender, source of specimen and date of collection.
A Trumbull Laboratories Flow Cytometry requisition with all information entered or attached to the request.

Hematopoietic Progenitor CD34+ Cell Analysis

The analysis of the absolute number of CD34+ cells in either peripheral blood or the progenitor cell product is determined by the single platform assay.

HPC product – at least 500µl of well mixed sample in a sterile vial.

4 – 16 hours from the time it enters the lab.

Completed Trumbull Laboratory HPC Test Request with all information completed.
